Features

The antenna is made of PTFE, which is suitable for corrosive environment, non-contact measurement, no pollution, small size, light weight and convenient installation. The rod length of conventional products is 100 mm \ 150 mm \ 200 mm.

This product is mainly used for measuring turbidness liquid conditions, because the antenna form adopts a planar conical antenna, with good anti-condensation effect, the liquid surface is PTFE material, widely used in high temperature (220° below), strong turbidness conditions, the blind area has an absolute advantage over the horn antenna only (200mm).

Features

Long ranges and a wide temperature range

Reliable measurements even in precipitation, fog, dust and dirt

Simultaneous detection of distance and speed

Operating modes can be set in accordance with the specific application

Intuitive set-up and visualisation of the measured data using the ifm Vision Assistant software

How It Works

Radar level sensors utilize advanced radar technology to measure the level of liquids or solids in tanks or containers. Their working principle is as follows: the sensor head emits continuous radar waves, pointing them towards the material surface. The radar waves reflect back to the sensor head, and after detection and processing, the liquid level is determined.

The core principle of radar level sensors is the time-of-flight method. This method calculates the time required for the radar signal to travel from the sensor head to the material surface and back. This time measurement is then converted into distance, thus indicating the liquid level. Furthermore, these sensors can detect changes in the dielectric constant of the material, which affects measurement accuracy.

A major advantage of radar level sensors is their strong adaptability to environmental factors such as temperature, pressure, and humidity. This makes them versatile and suitable for various applications. In addition, they are interference-resistant, ensuring reliable operation even in harsh environments.

The measurement range of radar level sensors is affected by the radar energy frequency and the sensor head power. Higher frequency radar energy provides more accurate measurement results, but the measurement range may be shorter. The measurement range and accuracy can be optimized for specific applications by fine-tuning the sensor head.
