Product Overview
The Hastelloy C-276 Guided Wave Radar Level Transmitter is a professional contact TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry) level measuring instrument designed for extreme corrosive industrial working conditions. Different from conventional 316L stainless steel guided wave radar and PTFE-lined anti-corrosion guided wave radar, all wetted parts including the probe and flange contact surface are made of solid Hastelloy C-276 super alloy.
This alloy material features excellent resistance to chloride ion corrosion, mixed acids, oxidizing chemicals and various harsh corrosive media that easily damage ordinary stainless steel and non-metallic lined sensors. Adopting mature TDR guided wave radar principle, it delivers stable and accurate liquid level and liquid-liquid interface measurement, unaffected by foam, steam, medium viscosity and density changes. With superior high temperature and high pressure resistance compared with PTFE-lined radar, it is the preferred measuring solution for high-grade corrosive chemical process tanks and reaction vessels.
Why Choose Hastelloy C-276 Guided Wave Radar Level Transmitter
Ordinary 316L stainless steel guided wave radar cannot withstand long-term erosion of chloride-containing media, mixed acid and strong oxidizing liquids, prone to pitting corrosion and probe failure. Although PTFE-lined guided wave radar solves corrosion problems, it is limited by non-metallic materials, with poor high temperature and pressure resistance, and risks coating aging and peeling under complex working conditions.
For high-standard chemical, pharmaceutical and electroplating industries, process equipment often requires corrosion resistance + high temperature and pressure resistance dual performance. The Hastelloy C-276 guided wave radar perfectly fills this market gap. The integral metal alloy structure has high mechanical strength, no coating shedding risk, and can operate stably for a long time in harsh corrosive environments with elevated temperature and pressure. It supports dual measurement of liquid level and oil-water interface, reducing instrument replacement frequency and overall plant maintenance costs.
Core Product Features
Premium Hastelloy C-276 Alloy Wetted Parts
Key contact components including probe and flange sealing surface are integrally made of Hastelloy C-276 super alloy. It provides outstanding resistance to chloride corrosion, mixed acid erosion, oxidizing chemical media and industrial brine, far exceeding the anti-corrosion performance of 316L stainless steel.
High Temperature & High Pressure Resistance
Compared with PTFE-lined anti-corrosion radar, solid alloy structure boasts stronger pressure bearing capacity and high temperature stability. It adapts to complex working conditions with simultaneous corrosion, high temperature and pressure, with no aging or structural damage.
Dual Liquid & Interface Measuring Function
It accurately measures continuous liquid level and layered liquid interface, effectively identifying two-phase liquid layers with different dielectric constants. Ideal for oil-water separation tanks and chemical sedimentation vessels.
Strong Environmental Anti-Interference Ability
TDR guided wave signal propagates stably along the alloy probe, not affected by liquid surface foam, tank steam, condensation, medium viscosity and density fluctuations. It maintains stable measuring accuracy throughout long-term operation.
Optional Rod & Cable Probe Structure
Two probe types are optional to adapt to different tank depths: rigid rod probe for short-range measurement and flexible cable probe for deep storage tanks, covering diverse industrial installation scenarios.
Industrial Explosion-Proof & Waterproof Grade
Equipped with intrinsic safety explosion-proof certification, suitable for flammable and explosive chemical workshops. IP67 sealed housing effectively isolates dust and moisture, adapting to harsh industrial field environments.
Stable & Low-Maintenance Operation
No moving parts inside the sensor, wear-free measuring structure. The high-stability Hastelloy C-276 alloy material greatly extends service life, realizing long-term maintenance-free operation for corrosive process tanks.

Limitations & Notes
This product is specially designed for liquid and liquid interface measurement, not suitable for solid powder, granular materials or working conditions with severe mechanical impact.
Although Hastelloy C-276 has excellent anti-corrosion performance, it is not applicable for ultra-strong corrosive fluorine-containing media.
Please select rod or cable probe according to the actual tank depth to ensure optimal measuring performance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What is the difference between Hastelloy C-276 and PTFE-lined guided wave radar?
PTFE-lined guided wave radar relies on non-metallic lining for anti-corrosion, with limited temperature and pressure resistance, and risks coating aging and peeling. The Hastelloy C-276 version adopts integral super alloy wetted parts, featuring higher mechanical strength, high temperature and pressure resistance, more stable structure, and suitable for more harsh and complex corrosive working conditions.
Q2: Can this radar measure oil-water interface?
Yes. The TDR measuring principle can accurately identify the layering position of two liquids with different dielectric constants, and is widely used for oil-water interface monitoring in separation tanks and sedimentation tanks.
Q3: What working conditions is Hastelloy C-276 radar suitable for?
It is specially used for working conditions that require both strong corrosion resistance and high temperature & pressure resistance, such as chloride media, mixed acid, oxidizing corrosive liquids that ordinary stainless steel sensors cannot withstand.
Q4: How to choose rod type and cable type probe?
Rod-type probe is recommended for tank depth within 6 meters; cable-type probe is suitable for deep tanks with a measuring range of 6 to 20 meters.
If your on-site working conditions involve high-grade corrosive media, high temperature and pressure environments, our Hastelloy C-276 Guided Wave Radar Level Transmitter can provide ultra-stable long-term level monitoring solutions.
