The working principle of a magnetic level indicator is that the measuring instrument and the liquid inside the container are at the same level. The level indicator is mounted on the container and is in direct contact with the liquid being measured. Inside the container, there is a float with a magnetic assembly, located on the liquid surface. As the liquid level rises or falls, the float moves accordingly. With the up-and-down movement of the float, the magnetic assembly rotates a series of bicolor magnetic flags or baffles, thus changing the color of a visual indicator mounted outside the chamber.
Because the working principle of magnetic level indicators relies on the interaction between magnets, these level measuring instruments require no power supply. They require virtually no maintenance. Another advantage is that the indicator's magnetism can affect optional switches or transmitters mounted outside the chamber.
